Welcome to the world of the super bright and delightfully insighful PipSpeak Tarot, a tarot de Marseille style deck! Discover how easy and how much fun it is to read with a pip cards!
This deck was born out of the creator's absolute delight of experiencing the freedom and joy of learning to work with the tarot anew by loosening the RWS structure she has been using for decades and learning to read with a pip deck.
Fortune tellers and cunning folk have been reading with Marseille and playing card decks for hundreds of years. Instead of esoteric intellectual prowess, these readers have been relying on their common sense, their understanding of human nature and key tarot wisdom passed down from generation to generations via word of mouth.
You donāt need to memorize āmeaningsā or symbolism. You will be relying on your eyes to observe and your common sense to read the cards. There arenāt any lists of āthis card means thisā¦ā either. Cards are read at face value. Every card shows up differently every time since reading it depends on context of the specific question. Find out about the basic guidelines and experience the joy of pip reading for your self!
There are a total of 83 cards titled in French 78 cards of a Marseille deck (22 Trump cards and 4 suits of Coins, Cups, Batons and Swords including their courts) as well as 5 extra cards:
- Time
- Language of the Birds (St. Francis)
- Cāest Si Bon (a card of curious courage)
- Oui (Yes)
- Non (No)
Each card is hand painted with guache paint the analog way. The deck comes with a small guidebook to give you some basic hints and book recommendations on how to approach reading with a Marseilles deck and build on your existing tarot practice. You will start to see how fun Tarot de Marseille can be!

- Cards are printed in 330 GSM (gram per square meter) black core paper with a micro linen finish with foil details in the art and matte, sparkly gold edging
- Card size: 60mm x 110mm, the perfect palm size, very easy to shuffle

Meet the Creator, Zaara KittenChops
Zaara (a.k.a KittenChops or Z or KChops) is an illustrator living in the Pacific Northwest with three kitties (Mazsi, Momo, Mikka), her lovely husband, and lots of art supplies.
Here is a list of things she enjoys: TAROT everything, KITTEN anything, cute STICKERS, washi tape, colored pencil sets in tins, crayon sets, watercolors, bubble tea, green tea, k-drama, k-pop, feeding squirrels, bouncing bouncy balls, collecting childrenās books, meeting with friends, reserving and picking up books from the public library, honing my drawing skills, MOCHI, fresh apples!
